Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program

On January 13, 2017, HUD announced $33 million in funding to 10 communities committed to ending youth homelessness. Seattle-King County’s Continuum of Care (CoC) was one of ten communities selected (out of 130 applicants) for HUD’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program and was awarded $5.4 million to accelerate our community’s progress in preventing and ending youth and young adult homelessness.

As an awardee of the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP), the CoC was required to submit a Coordinated Community Plan, led by All Home, to lay the groundwork for implementation and to provide a framework for the various projects that will be funded through YHDP. On October 18th, 2017, All Home submitted the following Seattle/King County YHDP Coordinated Community Plan. Upon approval of the Plan from HUD, we will begin implementation including a process for selecting partners to operate the new projects and submitting project applications to HUD to get contracts in place and programs up and running. Opportunities for continued engagement will be shared in the All Home Weekly Newsletter.

Thank you to the 100+ community partners, young people, and providers that have contributed to this effort!
